Skull and Crossbones

I’ve said it before, I’m not a huge fan of the whole skull craze which has been going on but there are a few exceptions

Last week Byron boy, Jai Vasicek of Ahoy Trader opened Paradiso at fenton&fenton, and well knock me down with a feather, I am totally in love with his work! He uses bright, fun colours combined with feathers and florals which give his work a more mexican “Day of the Dead” feel, a celebration of after life rather than a morbid representation of death itself.

I am so in love with his crosses which are embellished with beads, feathers and pom poms and that come in a myriad of colours and designs. All hand-made so each piece is unique, they really are a little piece of art which is quite covetable.

If you live in Melbourne be sure to go and check out Paradiso at fenton&fenton before until October 31st, otherwise you can check out all of Jai’s pieces on their website.
