Pile Up

Usually you would find Silestone used as benchtops or tiles, but this next design celebrates the beauty of Silestone and elevates it’s use to a whole new level.

The Silestone Slab Vases were designed as a collaboration between Spanish stone company Cosentino Group and Swedish Design studio Form Us With Love, as an experiment of what is possible using this material. The beautiful variety of colours and patterns in Silestone are really highlighted in this design, as is the quality of the material, which is both solid and scratch-proof.

The vase is constructed from various silestone rings that vary in shape, size and colour. At the centre of the piece is a 40cm metal stand on which you assemble the rings and in the hollow centre sits a plastic insert which allows the piece to become a water tight vase. The piece becomes like an interactive sculpture as you assemble and re-assemble the rings in whichever combination you like, you can change the vase as often as you like purely be rearranging the pieces!

Check out the video below for a behind the scenes look on the creation and endless possibilities of this vase. Brilliance!
