The Hermitage – Wanderlust Hotel, Singapore

Do you have a strong desire to travel? Well this hotel has your name all over it!

Wanderlust Hotel is located in the little India neighborhood in Singapore. The 1920s facade disguises a playfully arty hotel interior. The boutique hotel is split into four levels and each level has been designed by four different, esteemed design firms Asylum, Phunk Studio, fFurious and DP Architects. The hotel owner, Loh Lik Peng, gave each firm complete creative freedom with the space, and the result is a really fun and unique hotel that will be as much an experience to stay in as the country itself.

My favourite level is 3, designed by DP Architects. It has a black and white theme that uses origami and Pop Art as its inspiration. The origami rooms use light to highlight the interesting architectural feature lines, while the pop art rooms create a surreal environment almost as though you are living within an artwork.

Originally opened in July 2010, this hotel is still one of the most exciting examples of edgy hotel design in the world. Absolutely worth a visit!

  2. OMG that was fabulous! I love how they incorporate the 3D looks on their actual interior design.
