Thread Architecture

Melbourne architect Amby Lucy of Thread Architecture, creates an interesting range of homewares that are knitted from thread and rope. The bulky texture of each piece makes them feel more like a garment then a homeware, and the oversize knit detail takes on a more sculptural element.

Her range includes everything from lampshades to vases and bowls, but the bentwood chairs are my favourite. Each is entwined with various colour threads to create a unique, delicate and fun piece of furniture.

Aren’t these terrific. I also love the chair. The colours really pop.
