Block Party

What a bright future design student Jessica Arosenius has ahead of her. She has created the unique coffee table Block.210 which blurs the line between adult and children’s furniture.

In its static form it is an unassuming birch and white combination but it transforms when a child begins to play with it. The piece comes to life as the blocks are lifted to reveal 14 different block designs and a colourful base hidden beneath. Additional holes underneath the table allow inquisitive kids to move blocks and interact with those playing above. Can you believe that a functional piece could also be so fun?

This piece was only shown in the recent Milan Design Week and, fingers crossed, will be picked up for production in the near future.
