Back to School

It’s back to school time, all parents can I get a Hell Yeah?!

But school days also mean school bags,  books and raincoats, umbrellas and muddy, stinky shoes. How can one keep the house looking neat and teach the kids to stay organised at the same time? Lockers!

I bought these lockers 2nd hand. They had been used in a factory so were all roughed up, scratched and oh so beige. UGLY. Make over time!

Roughly sand back the existing paint and undercoat with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer/Sealer. This is really important, if you try to skimp here your paint will just scratch off later. Best tool for the job is a touch up spray gun coupled with an air compressor (see link at bottom of the page for an example), they achieve a fine smooth finish and are super fun to use. (Banksy Look out!) Spray on your colour of choice using a good quality hard wearing paint. FYI Matt colours are a little more forgiving for beginners than gloss.

We have our lockers in the laundry and everyone loves having their own personal spot to store stuff, the boys even started customising the interiors with stickers and posters.

Ring a Ding Ding.
